That's right. I'm back from France, the sun's out, and it's piping season babyyy. If you've been asking yourself "What is my life MISSING!?" It's probably hearing some fun, modern, and (most importantly) live piping! Either that or maybe you just haven't seen Battlestar Galactica yet.

Oregon Piper will be away from Portland and is very lucky to be touring the following East Coast locations:

Bagpipe Metroid Theme

At long last, the bagpipe Metroid Theme is finished!

All parts of the classic Metroid theme you know and love played by one bagpiper. I've always been a huge gamer nerd at heart, and I've particularly always had a soft spot for the soundtracks of some games. Some of the melodies are so simple, yet will stick in your mind for years. As the bagpipe has an extremely limited scale of nine notes, I realized one day that retro video games, with their very chordal, 8-bit sound and simple melodies were perfect for the bagpipe.

Making this tune + video has taught me some serious lessons about the importance of staying with the metronome, and how incredibly challenging video editing can be for an idiot like myself!  Enjoy!

Oregon Piper and AC/DC @Aladdin Theatre

Oregon Piper will guest starring yet again with the amazing AC/DC tribute band "Shoot to Thrill" at the Aladdin on Sat 1/17. Additionally, Bon Jovi tribute band "Steel Horse" will be whipping their 80s hair around as well!

At first I was hesitant about how much I liked AC/DC- after hearing this band I was literally blown away - blown into pieces! Then the pieces of my face melted! Come join the fun.
